India- Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma came into this tournament with not very good form. but he found some after a couple of matches and continued it throughout until the semi-finals. He broke the world record of four centuries in the tournament previously held by Kumar Sangakkara by making five in the 2019 World Cup. He ended up with 648 runs to his name and his best innings came against rivals Pakistan where he slammed 140 runs to take India to 336 and helped India make it 7-0 against the Men in Green in World cup cricket.
Australia- Mitchell Starc
Mitchell Starc had a lot to prove in this tournament given that he was coming in without having any form behind him. But he picked up two five-wicket hauls and two four-wicket hauls in the tournament and ended up taking 27 wickets, bettering his performance from 2015 edition. Starc will be pleased with his record but saddened with Australia not making it into the finals.
