All of the above MS Dhoni centuries in international matches resulted in India’s victory, but this century is considered to be the best, despite coming in a loss. This is because the great man scored a brilliant ton when India was reduced to 29/5.

The match was the 1st ODI between India and Pakistan and was played at the Chepauk in Chennai. Pakistan opted to field first and Junaid Khan picked 4/43, as India’s top order crumbled losing the first five wickets for single-digit scores.
Suresh Raina made 43 runs, but the innings that salvaged India’s reputation a bit came from captain Dhoni, who made 113* in 125 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. And with the help of Ashwin (31*) took India to a respectable 227/6.
It was an amazing knock under severe pressure from Dhoni as he had to bat with the tail-end for most of the innings after Raina fell in the 33rd over. He was named the Man of the Match for his innings, despite India losing the match by 6 wickets.
