224 v Australia, Chennai, 2008
Not many wicketkeepers in Test cricket have made double centuries thanks to the tiresome workload they have. It is difficult for the glovesman to bat for over 3-4 hours that are needed to make a score of 200 or more. But MS Dhoni managed to break the threshold against Australia in Chennai, 2008.
Stats: A List of records held by MS Dhoni
A Michael Clarke century (130) had led Australia to 380 batting first. India pummeled the Australia bowling to the ground with Tendulkar (81) and Kohli (107) tiring them and then Dhoni came in and ripped them to shreds with 224 in 265 balls with 24 fours and 6 sixes. Bhuvneshwar made 38 and aided Dhoni well, who became the first Indian keeper to make a double century in Tests.
