Umesh Yadav showed why he is the preferred choice in Indian conditions. He was amazing against South Africa, where he had picked 11 wickets and was the Man of the Match in the Pune Test match. He continued that form against Bangladesh as well, picking a fifer in the Kolkata Test match and a total of eight wickets in the match. He ended up picking 12 wickets in the series as well.

VIRAT KOHLI- 8/10
Virat Kohli broke many records during his 136 in Kolkata Test | AFP
Virat Kohli had a good series against South Africa where he scored his career-best 254* and carried that amazing form into the Bangladesh series as well. Though he failed in the first Test match, getting out for a rare duck in Indore; he made good in the Eden Gardens, where he become the first centurion from India in day-night Tests. His captaincy was top notch and with his fast bowlers doing the damage, he sat back and took full advantage of Bangladesh’s misfortunes.
