IPL 2021: 5 uncapped IPL players who can don the Team India jersey in near future

Here are the five uncapped Indian players who can make their India debuts in near future.

VENKATESH IYER

Venkatesh Iyer | BCCI-IPLVenkatesh Iyer was a revelation for Kolkata Knight Riders as coach Brendon McCullum and captain Eoin Morgan decided to throw caution to the wind when IPL 2021 was moved to UAE from India. Iyer was chosen to open the innings and was given the license to go at the bowlers in the powerplay.

IPL 2021: “I could not talk to him, I was in complete awe," says Venkatesh Iyer on meeting MS Dhoni

Iyer succeeded in his role as KKR, who was on the 7th spot in IPL 2021 points table after the first-half, made it into the finals of the tournament in UAE. He played only 10 matches but made 370 runs with a strike rate of 128.47 and an average of 41.11 with 14 sixes and 37 fours.

Iyer was also used as an all-rounder when needed and picked 3 wickets in the process. He is a brilliant prospect as India looks for a backup all-rounder with hitting abilities for Hardik Pandya in limited-overs cricket.
