India will be facing Sri Lanka in a series of three ODIs and three T20I matches in the month of July. The ODIs will be played on July 13, 16, and 18 with all matches to be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
After the three-match ODI series, Sri Lanka and India will clash in a series of three T20I matches as well which will also be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on July 21, 23, and 25.
Team COC presents predicted India playing XI for the ODI series against Sri Lanka
Shikhar Dhawan, who has also been named captain of the Indian team for both ODIs and T20Is is expected to open the innings in the ODIs along with Prithvi Shaw. India also has options of Devdutt Padikkal and Ruturaj Gaikwad along for opening the innings in the ODI series.
Suryakumar Yadav, Manish Pandey, and Ishan Kishan might be picked in the XI for the middle order. All three of the batsmen are quite aggressive in nature with Ishan Kishan primed to keep wickets. India might also pick Sanju Samson to keep wickets and bat in the middle order.
Kishan or Samson may also be the finishers for the Indian team along with Hardik Pandya. Finishing duties may also be shared by Hardik’s brother Krunal, who did the job brilliantly in the recent home ODI series against England. If India needs an option who can bowl at the start as well, they have K Gowtham in the wings.
He might also be picked to partner Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav in the spin department. Chahal and Kuldeep were part of a famed partnership for India in ODIs from 2017-2019. But due to some adjustments in the Indian playing XI, only one of them has been able to play.

The fast bowling department may have the vice-captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who may have help from Deepak Chahar. Both can swing the ball up front and also bowl great yorkers in the death overs.
India also has the option of playing Navdeep Saini, if they need pace, or Chetan Sakariya as well, who has only done well in IPL 2021 if they wish for a left-arm pace option.
The first ODI between Sri Lanka and India will be played on July 13.
