
India and Afghanistan are facing off in the third and final ODI of the series in Chennai on June 20, 2026. Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and chose to bat first.
India made three changes to their playing XI, bringing in Prasidh Krishna, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Harsh Dubey. Prasidh and Gurnoor Brar opened the bowling for India, and Krishna accounted for all the top three batters in the Afghan XI, all caught by Rohit Sharma in the slips.
First to be dismissed was Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who was enticed to play a drive away from his body by Krishna, and Rohit Sharma took a sharp, straight forward catch. The second wicket to fall was that of Rahmat Shah, who was squared up by Krishna, and Rohit Sharma grabbed an easy catch.
The third wicket to fall was Ibrahim Zadran, who also tried to play an expansive drive on the up and edge the ball to Rohit Sharma, completing the duo’s third wicket.
