Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi started the T20 World Cup 2021 on a high with the wickets of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli against India. But his outing ended with three sixes from Australia's Matthew Wade on Thursday (November 11).
It was the semi-final match and Shaheen had to keep the Aussies silent in the penultimate over for Pakistan's chances to stay alive till the last over. The pacer tried his best but he ended up getting hit for hat-trick sixes which resulted in Pakistan's defeat.
Social media, as they say, never forgets and the Twitterati reminded Shaheen of a viral video in which he imitated the dismissal of Rohit, Kohli, and Rahul after being asked by the fans during Pakistan's last Super 12 match against Scotland.
The spectators in the Sharjah stadium had started chanting the names of Indian batters and Shaheen obliged them with his imitation. But the Pakistan pacer's actions were slammed by Indian fans who were already disappointed with India's early exit in the tournament.
After Pakistan's defeat in the semis by 5 wickets, the Indian fans on social media took a jibe at Shaheen and felt each wicket was made up with a six.
