India was badly affected by the second wave of COVID-19 as the country had registered the highest number of positive cases in the world since the pandemic had started.

Thus, team India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has urged everyone in his state to continue taking all necessary precautions to fight against the pandemic.

And for all those saying, it's scary and don't spread scary stuff. PLEASE BE SCARED, VERY SCARED and that's the only way we can fight this. We need to be on war footing defence against this virus,” Ashwin wrote on Twitter.

The off-spinner had to leave this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) as some of his family members had tested positive for COVID-19 and had to leave Delhi Capitals to be with his family and thus said that he knows the importance of following all the necessary precautions but a number of people still don’t.

I understand your fear, I have had a close shave with my entire family going under the hammer. You and I may know the situation and take all precautions but there are so many who still don't understand the magnitude of this,” the Chennai-based spinner wrote.

Ashwin had earlier shared a photo of a group of people still not following social distancing.

This is a picture from earlier today, people queuing up at a ration shop without any spacing.. If "panic" is the only thing that will change this scenario, I think panic it will have to be,” R Ashwin tweeted.
