Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma is struggling to find his groove in the ongoing IPL 2022, but former head coach Ravi Shastri believes the experienced opener will shine in their final match against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday, May 21.

While MI is already out of the IPL 2022 playoffs, they will play for their pride on Saturday, and Shastri said that the Indian skipper would come with all guns blazing as he will have the support of his own fans, as well as that of Virat Kohli and RCB’s with him.

Rohit has so far scored 266 runs in 13 games.

Notably, if DC wins the match against MI, it will shatter RCB’s dreams of making it to the playoffs. Hence, there would be a huge support for MI and Rohit to outclass DC in the 69th match of the IPL 2022.

Ravi Shastri told ESPNCricinfo: “What more do Mumbai Indians need for Rohit Sharma? Rohit Sharma fans, Virat Kohli fans, and RCB fans are all with him. Virat Kohli scored 50 in the last game, if Rohit scores 50-60 then at least, (it will help them end the season nicely).”

He added, “Mumbai Indians are not habitual of finishing last. They have lost 10 matches. If they lose tomorrow, it will make it 11 losses from 14 games which they don't want so they'll try to win. If Rohit gets going we all know what he can do as an opener in white-ball cricket.”

Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun hasn’t yet got a single match with MI despite being with the team for the last two seasons, but the all-rounder might get a chance against DC on Saturday, as Rohit hinted at bringing in some new faces in their final match.

Shastri signed off by saying, “Why not? I have seen him in the nets. The Tendulkar name is a big name and he has very big boots to fill. But he bowls 'theek thaak', swings the new ball into the batters, and is tall so gets the bounce too. So why not? If they have lost 11 matches then why does it matter? If they give Arjun a chance and if he does well in his first match it's good for the future.”
