Former India captain and head coach Ravi Shastri was seen in a completely new ‘party animal’ avatar in an ad for a popular credit card payment portal, which is somewhat similar to his real-life attitude towards life and how he carries himself, full of confidence and straight talk.
The World Cup-winning former cricketer aced the role in the video that is being widely shared on social media. With this, he joins the likes of Rahul Dravid, Neeraj Chopra, Kapil Dev, Javagal Srinath, and Venkatesh Prasad, who were previously featured in the ads for this app.
In the latest advertisement, Shastri can be seen playing a coach's role again but with a twist. The all-rounder is never missing an opportunity to party with a few drinks. He is seen spoofing the dressing room pep talk of ’70 minutes’ to ensure they make the most of 'happy hours' at a pub.
In another clip in the one-minute advertisement clip, Shastri can even be seen asking for 2 cough syrups 'on the rocks' at a pharmacy.
A theme song titled "he is such a tracer bullet", referring to his trademark commentary line can be heard playing in the background as Shastri keeps a traffic signal held up to have a party in the middle of a busy road.
