In the hunt for elusive IPL title, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are alive in the IPL 2022 playoffs race but their hopes are pinned on Delhi Capitals (DC), who have a better net run rate, and could move level on points and regain the fourth spot if they defeat Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday (May 21).
No wonder, the Bangalore-based franchise and its players are cheering for MI for their last league match against DC, slated to be held at the Wankhede Stadium.
Taking to Twitter, RCB extended support to MI by changing their colour from Red to Blue. They also shared a letter with the message: “Hey @MIPALTAN, the entire rcb team will cheer for you like #OneFamily, you go #PlayBold against DC!”
RCB’s wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik too supported the Rohit Sharma-led side in a cheeky manner.
Karthik posted his picture in MI’s jersey with the caption, “Found this in archives”, before adding the 'fingers crossed' emoji.
Notably, Dinesh Karthik was part of the Mumbai Indians set-up in 2012 and 2013.
Unlike RCB, DC have fortune in their own hands. On the other hand, MI will look to end a disappointing season on a winning note. The five-time champions have endured their worst season with just three wins in 13 matches so far.
