IPL 2022: RR take funny dig at R Ashwin’s crouching batting stance; his wife and teammates left in splits

Ashwin scored his first-ever half-century in T20s in his 277th match.

R Ashwin | BCCI-IPLRajasthan Royals (RR) may have lost their previous IPL 2022 match to Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 11, but they still found some humor thanks to veteran spinner R Ashwin and his batting antics as he scored his maiden T20 fifty in his 277th match.

Ashwin scored 50 runs with four fours and two sixes to his name after being promoted to the no.3 spot as RR lost Jos Buttler early after being asked to bat first by DC Captain Rishabh Pant who won the toss.

RR only managed to put 160 on the board with Devdutt Padikkal being the second-best scorer with 48 runs.

DC managed to overhaul the target with ease with 8 wickets in hand thanks to David Warner’s 53* and Mitchell Marsh’s 89, and their 144-run partnership.

RR still remain in contention for playoffs but now needs to win both their remaining matches to qualify into the final four.

Apart from his half-century, R Ashwin was also in news for bringing out a new batting stance, in which he crouched very low almost with his gloves touching the ground and this led to many reactions from the cricket fraternity and the fans as well.

Rajasthan Royals' social media team was also not behind, as they decided to photoshop a chair in the photo and posted it on their social media.

Why stand and deliver, when you can sit and deliver?” RR captioned the post.

This led to several reactions from cricket fraternity including Ashwin's India teammates and even his wife Prithi Narayanr reacted to the RR's photo.
