IPL 2022: Match 46, SRH v CSK- COC Predicted Playing XIs

MS Dhoni will return as CSK captain for the remainder of IPL 2022 from this match onwards.

Kane Williamson and MS Dhoni | BCCI-IPLThe 46th match of the IPL 2022 will see Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) clashing against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MCA Stadium in Pune on May 1st. The last time these two teams met SRH had defeated CSK by 8 wickets.

CSK has 2 wins and 6 losses from 8 matches thus far, and SRH have 5 wins from 8 matches. However, this time, Chennai Super Kings will be captained by MS Dhoni, who was named the skipper for the remainder of the IPL 2022 season as Ravindra Jadeja stepped down on April 30th.

IPL 2022: Twitterati react with memes after Jadeja quits captaincy; delighted with Dhoni's return

Keeping this in mind, here is the COC predicted Playing XIs for the SRH v CSK match in IPL 2022.

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD

The Sunrisers Hyderabad are working like a well-oiled machine and seemingly have no need for making unwarranted changes in their playing XI.

Kane Williamson might not have scored many runs, but he has led brilliantly, while Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, and Nicholas Pooran have done the bulk of the scoring. Even Shashank Singh managed to sneak in 20-odd runs in 6 balls he got to play against Gujarat Titans (GT).

SRH | BCCI-IPLThe addition of Washington Sundar will be a major advantage to SRH bowling, which is already one of the best. Though Marco Jansen had a bad outing against GT, he has been very good at the start, swinging the new ball.

IPL 2022: Sourav Ganguly lauds SRH's Umran Malik, calls him “Outstanding face of league so far”

The trio of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, and Umran Malik have been the bane for the majority of opposition batters as Bhuvneshwar and Natarajan have not only bowled well amazingly at the start but at the death as well.

But the standout performer has been Umran Malik, who has basically bowled at the speed of the wind to unsettle the batters and now aiming to hit the stumps more often than not.

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS

Chennai Super Kings will be once more under the leadership of MS Dhoni. Ravindra Jadeja stood down as CSK captain, handing over the reins to Dhoni as his performance was suffering due to the additional responsibility of leading the side.

CSK have had their share of problems with batting, but Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu have been consistent run-scorers. It is expected that Moeen Ali will come back into the XI given he was seen practicing after recovering from his ankle injury.

IPL 2022: Ravindra Jadeja was forced to hand over CSK captaincy to MS Dhoni – Report

CSK | BCCI-IPLShivam Dube shined brightly in a couple of matches but has been lukewarm from then on. Ravindra Jadeja will hope to find his form with both the bat and the ball after the burden of captaincy has been lifted from his shoulders.

MS Dhoni has been in good form in his cameos and has kept well, while he helped Jadeja with the field placements. Dwayne Bravo has been their best bowler but the remainder of the bowling unit has not supported him that well, apart from Maheesh Theekshana.

CSK will be hoping for a more consistent form from Mukesh Choudhary and possibly hoping that their foreign fast bowlers in Chris Jordan and Dwaine Pretorius raise their games a little more.

SRH COC Predicted Playing XI:

Kane Williamson (C), Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (WK), Shashank Singh, Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen, T Natarajan, Umran Malik

CSK COC Predicted Playing XI:

Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (C-WK), Dwayne Bravo, Dwaine Pretorius, Maheesh Theekshana, Mukesh Choudhary
