IPL 2022: Match 32, DC v PBKS- COC Predicted Playing XIs

This match has been shifted from Pune to Brabourne stadium in Mumbai.

Rishabh Pant's DC take on Mayank Agarwal's PBKS | BCCI-IPLThe 32nd match of the IPL 2022 between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) has seen a lot of trouble after the DC camp was hit by the COVID breach and hence the BCCI had to shift the match from the original venue of MCA Stadium in Pune to Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on April 20, 2022.

This was after DC physio Patrick Farhart, Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh and three other support staff members tested positive for the virus and Marsh had to be hospitalized. There was a cloud on whether the match would happen or not, but the remainder of the DC players tested negative for the virus.

Keeping this in mind, here is the Team COC predicted playing XIs for the DC v PBKS match.

DELHI CAPITALS

While the opening partnership of Prithvi Shaw and David Warner is expected to remain intact, Delhi Capitals are sure to miss the services of Mitchell Marsh in this match. Now it is up to them to bring in Sarfaraz Khan or Tim Seifert in his place. Sarfaraz didn’t get much backing from the camp as he was pushed down the order in the last match he played, but can be used as a floater.

Rovman Powell also has a chip on his shoulder as his performances with the bat and the ball have not exactly done much for the franchise.

DC | BCCI-IPLMeanwhile, Akshar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Lalit Yadav have stifled runs in the middle overs, but it is high time, Akshar starts picking wickets as well. He has just one wicket to show from 17 overs this season.

Khaleel Ahmed might keep his place and DC might be enticed to bring in Anrich Nortje to give him confidence as Mustafizur Rahman was taken apart by Dinesh Karthik in his last match.

PUNJAB KINGS

Punjab Kings are expected to welcome back their captain Mayank Agarwal who may replace Prabhsimran Singh in the XI that played against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The remainder of the batting lineup is expected to remain the same as Jonny Bairstow, Shikhar Dhawan has not done badly, while Liam Livingstone has been their best batter by far. Shahrukh Khan hit some lusty blows against SRH, while Jitesh Sharma has been a find for PBKS this season.

PBKS | BCCI-IPLRahul Chahar has been one of the best bowlers for PBKS both taking wickets and choking the runs. Kagiso Rabada, Vaibhav Arora, and Arshdeep Singh have been good so far. The main issue for them has been Odean Smith who has been leaking runs for them at 11.86 an over.
