The third match of the IPL 2022 between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the DY Patil Stadium saw a heartwarming moment when PBKS debutant Rajangad Bawa got out for a golden duck on the first ball and captain Mayank Agarwal was seen consoling him.
The U19 World Cup winner Raj Bawa was the only batter who couldn’t make an impact in the high-scoring match as he was trapped LBW by Mohammed Siraj on the first ball he faced on his debut.

He walked back dejected to the PBKS dugout, where captain Mayank Agarwal patted him on the head and the back, as he walked into the pavilion. The youngster would have been utterly unhappy not to contribute anything to the win.

However, PBKS started their IPL 2022 on a winning note as they defeated RCB by 5 wickets chasing down the 206-run target with five wickets in hand and one over to spare. Batting first after losing the toss, RCB posted 205 with new captain Faf du Plessis making 88 with 7 sixes and 3 fours, while Virat Kohli made 41*.
In reply, Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan added 71 runs for the first wicket and when these two got out, Bhanuka Rajapaksa with 43 in 22 balls and Odean Smith with 25* in 8 balls, took the PBKS over the finish line.
