His arrival in India for the IPL 2022 was delayed due to visa issues in the UK. He had to undergo mandatory three-day isolation in his hotel room after landing in India on Thursday.

The 34-year-old was one of the four cricketers retained by the four-time winners ahead of the mega auctions, along with Ravindra Jadeja, the new CSK captain, MS Dhoni, and opener Ruturaj Gaikwad.

CSK lost their opening match against KKR on March 26 despite the heroics of former captain MS Dhoni.

Moeen will be available for selection for the team’s second game, which they will play at Brabourne Stadium on Thursday (March 31) against Lucknow Super Giants. He made 357 runs in 15 matches for CSK in IPL 2021 and also picked a handful of wickets.

The franchise shared a video from its official Twitter handle on Monday, where the English all-rounder was seen meeting his teammates and support staff. CSK captioned the video as: "Vanganna Vanakkangana! A Superfam welcome to Namma Mo Bhai! #WhistlePodu #Yellove"
