IPL 2021: Match 13, DC v MI- COC Predicted Playing XIs

Both teams are coming off dominating victories to their name.

Both teams are coming off dominating victories to their name | BCCI-IPLThe 13th match of the IPL 2021 will see Mumbai Indians (MI) going up against the Delhi Capitals (DC) with the Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium being the venue. The match will be played on April 20, 2021, at 7.30 PM IST.

IPL 2021: WATCH - Shikhar Dhawan and R Ashwin's hilarious conversation after win over PBKS

MI have won their last two matches after losing the tournament opener to RCB. Capitals are coming off a huge dominating win over Punjab Kings in Mumbai, but it will be their first match in Chennai, while MI has gotten accustomed to the venue and the pitch.

This makes for an exciting matchup between two amazing sides and Team COC brings to you the Predicted Playing XIs for the DC v MI match in Chennai.

DELHI CAPITALS (DC)

Delhi Capitals decimated the Punjab Kings in their previous match and apart from a hiccup against the Rajasthan Royals, the Rishabh Pant-led side has been quite impressive, to say the least.

Their opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw have been giving them flying starts, while the middle order has been in trouble a bit. They brought in Steve Smith for Ajinkya Rahane, but he also didn’t contribute much.

IPL 2021: I've already started to enjoy captaincy - DC's skipper Rishabh Pant

Marcus Stoinis and Rishabh Pant have a huge responsibility because they only have Lalit Yadav and Chris Woakes for the company after. Chris Woakes deserves special mention as he has given them early breakthroughs and made crucial runs as well when needed.

Chris Woakes has been an amazing addition to the DC team | BCCI-IPLR Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, and Avesh Khan have done well in the matches thus far, however, their new recruit Lukman Meriwala didn’t have a wonderful debut.

Also given that the match is in Chennai, DC might want to avail the services of Amit Mishra again, given that Akshar Patel is still not well enough to get back on to the field. They also have the option of bringing in Anrich Nortje into the team, but that would mean shortening an already short batting lineup.

MUMBAI INDIANS (MI)

Mumbai Indians have got their combination perfect especially the first six batsmen in Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard, and the Pandya brothers- Krunal and Hardik.

IPL 2021: Muttiah Muralitharan undergoes angioplasty in Chennai

However, they found themselves a spinner short in their last match despite winning by 13 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Adam Milne went for 33 runs in 3 overs in his MI debut and given how the Chepauk pitch behaved, Jayant Yadav might replace him in the XI to ease the burden on Rahul Chahar.

MI have nothing much to tweak for Chennai track | BCCI-IPLKrunal Pandya, Trent Boult, and Jasprit Bumrah have been doing an amazing job and they would be working on countering the Shikhar Dhawan-Prithvi Shaw combination.

The match is expected to be a humdinger and one will definitely get their money’s worth seeing these two finalist teams of IPL 2020 clashing once again.

DC COC Predicted Playing XI:

Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Steve Smith, Rishabh Pant (C&WK), Marcus Stoinis, Lalit Yadav, Chris Woakes, R Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Amit Mishra, Avesh Khan

MI COC Predicted Playing XI:

Rohit Sharma (C), Quinton de Kock (WK), Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Jayant Yadav, Rahul Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult
