Navdeep Saini’s 34 wickets in 8 games for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy 2017-18 proved to be the stepping stone to the Delhi fast bowler as he was picked by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the IPL 2019. He has played 9 games and impressed by hitting 140 plus kph speeds regularly and for being Virat Kohli’s go-to man for wickets.

His brightest moment came when he was added to the Indian Test squad for their one-off Test against Afghanistan in 2018 as a cover to Mohammad Shami. He didn’t get to make his debut though but has shown that he is on the cusp of making it to the Indian team, as he has been named in the standby players for the national team for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019.

Saini is widely believed to be one of the most promising youngsters to come out of domestic cricket and IPL 2019 has been a brilliant showcase of his skills and bowling with someone like Dale Steyn will only help him develop himself for the long run and possibly a lengthy career with the Indian team.
