Shreyas Gopal was first picked in IPL in 2014 by Mumbai Indians but played just six matches in three editions of the tournament. In IPL 2018, he was picked by Rajasthan Royals and for them, the 25-year-old Karnataka lad has picked 21 wickets in 20 matches and has even shown some batting skills as well.

A batsman and leg-spinning all-rounder Gopal has played 56 FC matches, 29 List A matches and 42 T20 matches. He has scored 2431 runs in FC with 4 centuries and 7 fifties and has taken 184 wickets with the best bowling of 5/17. He has 47 wickets in T20 matches and hence provides the possibility to Indian team an option to the likes of Kedar Jadhav and others, as a bowling all-rounder.

Gopal has been under-utilized as a batsman in IPL, but his skills with both bat and ball will be beneficial to the national team’s cause.
