Mumbai captain Prithvi Shaw was targetted by trolls after an average performance in the Indian Premier League (2020) and exclusion from India's Test side. A meme from the IPL 2020 in which Shaw is sitting alone in the Delhi Capitals dressing room while lost in his thoughts was viral on social media.
Shaw, who seems to be affected by the negative memes, shut down the troll with a meme response after he smashed an unbeaten 227 off 154 balls in the Vijay Hazare Trophy against Puducherry.
The 21-year-old took to Instagram and shared memes made by his fans. It had tweaked lyrics of famous rapper Divine's rap song '3.59 AM'. "Edit karke tune image mera meme bana diya, mehnat karke tere bhai ne pura dream bana diya", the meme read.
Apart from Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav scored 133 off 58 deliveries and took Mumbai to a total of 457/4 in 50 overs. This is the highest List A total scored by any team in India's domestic circuit, breaking the record set by Jharkhand earlier in this season, when they slammed 422/9 against Madhya Pradesh.
Shaw has been not been included in India's squad for the 5-match T20I series against England.
