AUS v IND 2020-21: BCCI joined all concerned parties after Kohli's outburst over Rohit's injury: report

The board tried to bridge the communication gap in the controversial matter with a conference call.

The board connected the Indian skipper, head coach Ravi Shastri with the limited-overs vice-captain and chief selector Sunil Joshi.

The call also had those involved in Rohit’s fitness assessment at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore present. An effort was made to clear positions and have all of Kohli and all else's queries answered.

The date of the next assessment on Rohit's injury at the NCA has been set as December 11.

But despite the hard quarantine posing a massive hurdle to his Test series participation, a BCCI office-bearer involved in organising the conference call said the board is confident of the experienced right-hander making the trip.

In his presser, Kohli clearly mentioned there has been "no information" and a great deal of uncertainty on Rohit's injury.

"Before the selection meeting, we got a mail that he is unavailable, that he has picked up an injury during the IPL. It said that the pros and cons of the injury were explained to him and he understood and he was unavailable," the skipper had said.

"After that he played in the IPL and we all thought he would be on that flight to Australia and we had no information on why he is not travelling with us. There has been no information, there has been a lack of clarity. We have been playing the waiting game."

It's still not clear, however, as to why didn't Kohli and Shastri directly engage with Rohit and sought where he stands with his body.
