The second edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is all set to get underway on Friday (February 23). Mumbai Indians will take on Delhi Capitals in the tournament opener at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
Ahead of the match, the opening ceremony will take place at the iconic venue, featuring a couple of Bollywood stars.
Renowned actors, Sidharth Malhotra, Kartik Aaryan, and Tiger Shroff are set to grace their presence at the opening ceremony.
The official social media handle of the WPL confirmed that Sidharth, Kartik and Tiger will entertain the fans with their performances during the opening ceremony.
While the opening ceremony will kickstart at 6:30 PM, the match is due to begin at 7:30 PM.
During the augural WPL curtain-raiser in 2023, Bollywood actresses Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon had lit up the stage with their dance performances while AP Dhillon entertained the crowd with his incredible singing.
In the first edition, Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians were crowned champions after they defeated Meg Lanning's Delhi Capitals in the final.
While all the WPL matches were played in Mumbai last season, Bangalore and Delhi will host the games between them this year.
