WI v IND 2022: Rohit Sharma recovers from back spasm; set to lead India in final two T20Is: Report

India is one win away from clinching the T20I series against the West Indies.

Team India skipper Rohit Sharma has reportedly regained fitness and is ready to lead Team India in the remaining two matches of the ongoing five-match T20I series against the West Indies.

The Indian team is currently leading the T20I series with a 2-1 margin, and a victory in the fourth match to be played on Saturday (August 6) in Florida will win them the series against the West Indies.

However, ahead of the crucial match, India received a major boost when their captain, Rohit Sharma, recovered from a back spasm and is ready to play in the Florida-leg.

According to Cricbuzz, Rohit Sharma has recovered from the back issue and will be available for the last two T20I matches against the West Indies. However, there is still no clarity about Harshal Patel’s availability. The left-arm pacer was out of action due to a rib injury.

Meanwhile, the skipper can be rested for the final match if India wins the fourth match, keeping in mind the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, with Hardik Pandya performing the captaincy duties.

Rohit gave India a bit of a headache when he retired hurt due to a back issue during the third T20I against the West Indies, as the Asia Cup 2022 is also just around the corner, and if there was any major issue, then it would have been a big setback for the 'Men in Blue'.
