WI v IND 2022: Third T20I to also have a delayed start, Cricket West Indies explains the reason

The third T20I is scheduled to be played in St Kitts on August 2.

The five-match T20 series is currently tied 1-1 | GettyThe third game of the ongoing five-T20I series between India and West Indies will start at 9:30pm IST instead of 8:00pm IST, Cricket West Indies confirmed in a statement.

The third T20I is scheduled to be played in St Kitts on Tuesday (August 2). The match was originally due to get underway at 10:30am local time but it will now start at 12:00pm local time.

The match timings have been pushed back to give the players extra time to recover after the second T20I on Monday (August 1) started three hours late because of “significant delays in crucial team luggage” arriving from Trinidad – the venue for the first T20I.

“Following the delayed start on Monday, the teams have agreed to start the third Goldmedal T20 Cup match at a later time to ensure that the players receive adequate rest and recover time for the back-to-back matches in St Kitts and in consideration of the back-to-back matches to come in Florida,” CWI said in a statement.

The five-match T20 series is currently tied 1-1 as the hosts won the second T20I by five wickets.

Riding on Obed McCoy’s six-wicket haul (6/17), West Indies bundled out India for a paltry 138 in 19.4 overs.

In reply, the home team got over the line in 19.2 overs on the back of opener Brandon King’s 52-ball 68 and wicketkeeper batter Devon Thomas’ unbeaten 31 off 19 balls.
