Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has said that despite being out of form, Virat Kohli will continue to bat at No.3 during the T20 World Cup 2022.
It’s been a while since we have heard praise related to Kohli. The reason behind this is the former Indian skipper’s dry spell with the bat. There was a time when the 33-year-old used to smash centuries for fun but these days he’s struggling to get even a half-century.
Things have turned this much worse for him that even his place in the side has been questioned and many are criticizing him for blocking the way of youngsters.

The recent white-ball games against England were horrendous for him as he manage only 45 runs across two T20Is and two ODIs he played and made 20 and 11 in the rescheduled Test at Edgbaston. Since then, he has been rested and is expected to return for the Asia Cup.
With T20 World Cup also around the corner, there are many speculations about Kohli’s form and few are even concerned about his batting position.
During a discussion, Wasim Jaffer talked about India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2022. He said that Virat Kohli will bat at his original No.3 spot with KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma being the two openers.
He also feels that the likes of Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan can contribute to India’s new aggressive approach and their chances of winning the cup are bright.
“Virat will remain in his original No. 3 place in the team. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma should open, and other players like Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, and Ishan Kishan can contribute significantly to the squad.
“I feel that the aggressive approach that India has undertaken is very nice to witness. India's chances of winning (T20 World Cup) are bright,” Wasim Jaffer said, as quoted by IANS.

Jaffer said that it’s ‘exceedingly tough’ for a batter to adapt to all three formats. He cited the example of Cheteshwar Pujara, saying that despite him being a high-esteem player, the right-hander cannot play in today’s era.
“Fitting in all three formats of cricket would have been exceedingly tough (ODI, T20, and Test). You must change and adapt to the format, or you will cease to exist.
“Despite my high esteem for players like Cheteshwar Pujara, one cannot play like him in this era, or you'll merely play Test cricket, which is also not guaranteed,” he said.
