Pakistan women's cricketer Nida Dar on Wednesday (September 4) congratulated Team India on winning the T20 World Cup 2024 and lauded the legendary duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who announced their T20I retirements after the showpiece event.

With her tweet, Nida invited the trolls as the post was shared more than two months after India’s T20 World Cup triumph.

Notably, the Men in Blue had clinched the T20 World Cup by beating South Africa in a thrilling final at Barbados on June 29.

Kohli, who was declared Player-of-the-Match for his 59-ball 76 in the title clash, announced his T20I retirement at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Hours later, Rohit joined Kohli in biding adieu to T20Is. The Indian captain revealed his decision in the post-match press conference.

Subsequently, the social media was flooded with congratulatory messages and tributes for Rohit and Kohli. In that context, Nida Dar's post was nothing unusual but the timing of it left everyone shocked.

"Congrats to India on winning the @T20WorldCup 2024! A special shoutout to @ImRo45 @imVkohli for their immense contributions to world cricket. Your leadership, skill, and dedication have inspired millions around the world. Happy retirement, legends! and head coach Rahul Dravid," Nida's post read.

Nida Dar was subjected to brutal trolling for her late tweet, which was eventually deleted on Thursday (September 5).
