India skipper Rohit Sharma is quite a character both on and off the field. His one-liners and banter with teammates often spark memes on social media.

After leading India to the T20 World Cup triumph last month, Rohit went to London to watch the Wimbledon semi-final and then flew to the USA to spend a vacation with his family.

Earlier this week, he returned to India and gave another glimpse of his confused side at the Mumbai airport.

Rohit, who has a tendency to forget things, was not being able to remember the number of bags on his return from vacation.

The Indian captain told his staff, “There should be 7 bags (7 bag hone chahiye)”. However, after sitting in the car, he corrected himself and said, “8 bag hone chahiye (there should be 8 bags).”

It was not the first time that Rohit Sharma showed this confused side to the world. During the T20 World Cup 2024 match against Pakistan, he forgot about the whereabouts of the coin at the toss, which he had kept in his pocket. He once forgot the team’s decision to bat or ball first after winning the toss in a game against New Zealand.

Such comical moments of Rohit Sharma often remind the fans of Virat Kohli’s statement about the Indian captain.

A few years ago, Kohli had opened up on Rohit's habit of forgetting things. “The number of things Rohit Sharma forgets, I have never seen anyone else being this forgetful; iPad, wallet, phone, he forgets not just small things but essentials for daily use. He has even forgotten his passport two or three times, which was very hard to retrieve," Kohli had said on Breakfast with Champions.

Rohit Sharma retired from T20Is after the T20 World Cup win in the Caribbean. However, he continues to remain the captain in ODIs and Tests and will now shift his focus to longer formats with big assignments coming up in the next few months.

Rohit will be next seen in action during the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, starting on August 2 in Colombo.
