WATCH- Sunil Gavaskar meets Babar Azam and Pakistan squad; signs special cap for him and shares batting tips

Babar Azam celebrated his 28th birthday on October 15 and received a special gift from Gavaskar.

Pakistan team was hosted for a dinner party by their batting consultant Matthew Hayden at his farmhouse where Sunil Gavaskar was also invited. Babar Azam had recently celebrated his 28th birthday on October 15 amongst other captains as well during a presser conference.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared a video of the meeting of Pakistani captain Babar Azam and India legend Sunil Gavaskar on their social media.

Gavaskar can be seen in conversation with Pakistan coaches Saqlain Mushtaq and Mohammad Yousuf. He was further seen interacting with Yousuf, Saqlain with Mohammad Nawaz joining them.

He also signed a special ‘sunny cap’ for Babar Azam and said after the occasion: “This is my Sunny cap which I present to very few. It was a birthday gift to him yesterday at Hayden’s farmhouse where the Pak team had come and I was also invited for dinner.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan lost their first warm-up match to England on October 17 in Brisbane by 6 wickets. Put into bat first by England captain Jos Buttler, Pakistan managed 160/8 with Shan Masood scoring 39 while opening the innings and Mohammad Wasim scoring 26 and Shadab Khan captained the side with Babar and Rizwan taking a backseat.

In reply, England overhauled the target in 14.4 overs for the loss of 4 wickets only. Harry Brook made 45* in 24 balls, Ben Stokes made 36 and Sam Curran made 33* in 14 balls. Shaheen Afridi bowled 2 overs while Mohammad Wasim picked 2/16.
