South Africa’s young sensation Dewald Brevis is living up to his nickname of ‘Baby AB’ after legend AB de Villiers as he smoked 5 sixes in a row in an ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2022) match for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots against Trinbago Knight Riders on Sept 22, 2022.
Brevis began the carnage in the 19th over despite coming into bat in the previous over at the fall of Darren Bravo’s wicket. While Sherfane Rutherford was hammering the TKR bowlers, Brevis got his hands on Akeal Hosein in the penultimate over.
He hit him for three sixes on the last three balls of the 19th over which was interrupted by a wide. Then in the 20th over, Daryn Dupavillon got two wickets in the over and was on a hat-trick but Brevis smacked him for two sixes on the last two balls of the over to help SKNP put 163/6 in 20 overs.

Brevis made a name for himself in the U19 World Cup this year where he finished as the top scorer and also won the player-of-the-tournament award. He was named Baby AB due to the resemblance of his batting style with AB de Villiers.
He also featured in the IPL 2022 where he played for Mumbai Indians, making 161 runs in 7 matches at a strike rate of 142.47.
