Lahore Qalandars were sloppy on the field against Peshawar Zalmi in the 9th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2022). Although Lahore won the match by 29 runs, they dropped a lot of catches while defending the target of 200 runs.
One of them came in the 11th over of Zalmi's run-chase when Haider Ali tried to go for a big hit, but ended up hitting it high in the air off Kamran Ghulam's bowling.
Mohammad Hafeez and Fakhar Zaman both went for the catch and there was poor communication between the two experienced players. Eventually, they collided and the catch was dropped; giving Ali a lifeline.
Ali ended up scoring 49 runs off 34 deliveries and turned out to be Zalmi's top scorer. They could only manage 170/9 in 20 overs and lost their second match of the tournament so far.
Lahore have won two out of their three matches and they are placed at number 2 on the points table after Multan Sultans, who have won their all four encounters.
