India opener Rohit Sharma has moved to the number 5 in the latest ICC Test Rankings. He has overtaken India captain Virat Kohli to become the top-ranked Indian batsman in the rankings, updated on Wednesday (September 1).
Rohit has 773 rating points, while Kohli has slipped a position to No. 6 with 766 rating points after three not so productive Test matches in the ongoing series against England. The opener has performed well in tough English conditions to score 230 runs in 3 Tests.
Twitterati reacted to the latest update in the ICC Test Rankings. They praised Rohit for making a strong comeback in Test cricket, when his Test career was considered dead at one stage and very few backed him to revive it.
Mumbai Indians tweeted a picture of Rohit and lauded the opener for achieving career-bet rating points in Test.

India's wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has slipped out of the top 10 as he dropped from the 8th spot to 12.
The ICC Test Rankings is topped by England captain Joe Root who has returned to the number 1 spot for the first time in six years. He is currently in terrific form and has scored a hundred in all three matches of the ongoing series.
