The Twitter user gave the example of Kapil Dev who had mankaded Peter Kirsten after warning.

India's off-spinner R Ashwin hit back at a Twitter user who questioned bowlers for mankading without prior warning. It was an indirect dig at Ashwin who had mankaded Jos Buttler in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 and the mankading debate has never stopped since then.

A Twitter user had posted a video of former India captain Kapil Dev mankading South Africa's Peter Kirsten after warning him in the previous game. A few netizens started arguing if Ashwin should mankad the non-striker after warning like Kapil?

But the off-spinner made it clear that he is going to mankad the non-striker without warning if he leaves the crease too early. He also roasted the Twitter user by telling him to approve it and not tell his parents about the same.

"I would do it again if a batsmen goes out of the crease. I would also like to seek your permission to do the same cos if a bowler needs to run a batter out that way, he/she needs to premeditate the same and hopefully, you will approve of the same and not tell my parents about it," he responded.

Earlier, South Africa spinner Tabraiz Shamsi had extended his support after Ashwin talked about the mental trauma a bowler goes through due to the outrage over the mankading, a legal way of dismissal.

“@ashwinravi99 I think all bowlers should do it without any fear.. its within the rules of the game. Why must the bowlers get abused about "spirit of cricket" when it's actually the batsmen that are stealing yards and THAT is against the spirit of cricket. That's the real truth,” Shamsi wrote.
