India batsman Shikhar Dhawan has advised fans to stay at home amid the second wave of COVID-19. India is fighting against Coronavirus and the rise in COVID-19 cases has led to the collapse of the healthcare system in the country.

Dhawan appealed to the citizens to stay at home in his unique way. He used a line from Akshay Kumar's Bollywood movie 'Gabbar is Back'. Taking to Instagram, he captioned the post, "Ghar pe rehne ka nahi toh Gabbar aa jayega."

Earlier this month, the 35-year-old got vaccinated and thanked the frontline warriors for their sacrifices and dedication. He had also pledged ₹20 lakh to Mission Oxygen, to help hospitals and patients procure oxygen equipment.

Dhawan was ignored in the 20-member squad for India's tour of England. However, he is likely to be picked for the limited-overs series in Sri Lanka in July.

The southpaw was in good touch in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) for Delhi Capitals. The squad is yet to be announced for the series in the island nation.
