WATCH- Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and other Australian cricketers urge to help India in COVID-19 fight

In a video shared by UNICEF Australia and Cricket Australia, various Australian cricketers both male and female are seen appealing to the general public to send help to India which is being hammered by the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

India has reported more than 400,000 cases daily for the last 10 days or so and lost more than 4000 people every day due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This has led to a shortage of healthcare facilities all over India including oxygen cylinders, vaccines, lifesaving medicines, and ICU beds.

Australian cricketers were the first to come forward and help out India with Pat Cummins donating $50,000 and Brett Lee donating one Bitcoin (approx. Rs 43 lakhs) to the UNICEF Australia for buying oxygen for the needy.

In a recent effort to garner attention towards India’s fight against COVID-19, several Australian cricketers like Pat Cummins, Brett Lee, Alyssa Healy, Michael Hussey, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, Meg Lanning, Allan Border, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, and Rachel Haynes are seen appealing for people to donate to UNICEF Australia to help India.
