The latest ones to join the social bandwagon are the cricket celebrities, who are paying respect to the COVID-19 warriors amid the pandemic.

India is going through a torrid time after being rocked by the second COVID-19 wave. The outbreak has already taken many lives in the country and the frontline workers are trying hard to save as many lives as possible.

Taking to Twitter, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar wrote: “Silently serving humanity forever. Sleepless nights, care and concern flow non stop for us when we aren’t well. The pandemic has made us recognise their value more than ever before. Grateful for everything you do for us. Happy #InternationalNursesDay.”

“Words are not enough to express our gratitude towards all the nurses and healthcare workers who are fighting this pandemic head-on. Thank you for being the saviours of humankind #InternationalNursesDay2021,” former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh tweeted.

Highlighting the importance of nurses who are working day and night ever since the Coronavirus outbreak, VVS Laxman wrote: “They are holding up the light in our darkest hour and are the very backbone of our healthcare system. On #InternationalNursesDay I thank the Nursing fraternity for all their care, compassion & life saving efforts.”

Current and former stars of Indian cricket like Ishant Sharma, Irfan Pathan, Dinesh Karthik and Manoj Tiwary also shared heartfelt posts for the nurses.
