Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi's real age has always been a mystery among the fans. On Monday (March 1), he took to Twitter to thank his fans for the wishes and mentioned the real age.
Afridi revealed that he has turned 44 and not 41 which the official record says. "Thank you very much for all the lovely birthday wishes - 44 today!", he tweeted.
The 44-year-old further assured fans of good performances in the ongoing Pakistan Super League for Multan Sultans. "My family and my fans are my biggest assets. Really enjoying my stint with Multan and hope to produce match-winning performances for all MS fans", he added.

Surprisingly, Afridi, who made his debut at 16 as per the records, had mentioned that he is 1975 born in his autobiography 'Game Changer'. Going by the mentioned date of the year in his book, the all-rounder turned 46.
"Also, for the record, I was just nineteen, and not sixteen like they claim. I was born in 1975. So, yes, the authorities stated my age incorrectly", he wrote in his book. If he was born in 1975, it makes him 21 and not 19 as he writes.
But Afridi later clarified that his autobiography's first edition carried the wrong year. Whether the age is 41, 44, or 46, the fans are still confused.
