England all-rounder Ben Stokes' father Ged Stokes passed away on Tuesday after battling brain cancer. Rajasthan Royals (RR), the IPL franchise Stokes plays for, expressed their condolence.
Ged, who died at the age of 65, was a former rugby player in the New Zealand league. He played for the Workington Town rugby club and also went on to coach different clubs.

Royals took to Twitter and posted Ged's picture with the message: “RIP Ged Stokes. One of the greatest characters in our special cricket family. We're with you, Ben. Strength to you and your family."
Stokes' father was diagnosed with brain cancer in January 2020. The all-rounder had left the Test series against Pakistan in August in middle to travel to New Zealand and spend some time with his ailing father. He later returned to join Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2020 during October.
