AUS v IND 2020-21: WATCH - Virat Kohli says on late DRS call, "such mistakes not acceptable at highest level"

Australia's Matthew Wade survived a plumb LBW after DRS called null and void.

India captain Virat Kohli was not happy with the umpire's late decision to go for DRS during the third T20I. Matthew Wade, who scored 80 off 53, could have been dismissed earlier in his innings.

It was the 11th over of the innings when T Natarajan managed to trap Wade in front of the wickets. But the on-field umpire was not convinced to rule it out. Indian players decided to challenge the decision and on captain Kohli's call for a DRS, the umpire went to the third umpire.

Unfortunately, the replay of the delivery was already played on the big screen. Even Wade questioned it and the third umpire ended up calling the DRS null and void.

"That LBW was a strange one, we were still discussing that if the ball was going down leg side and decided to go for the review but the umpire said nothing can be done," Kohli said at the post-match press conference.

"We felt as management, such mistakes (being late) cannot be done at the highest level. In an important game, it can prove really costly."

Wade went on to score 30 more runs in his innings after the incident. Eventually, India lost the third T20I by 12 runs.
