Former India batsman Suresh Raina was supposed to be playing in the ongoing IPL 2020 for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, days before the league was to begin, Raina shocked his fans all over the country by pulling out of the tournament citing personal reasons.
Amongst the possible reasons put out by multiple reports, the outbreak of Coronavirus in CSK camp, when 13 members including Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad tested positive, was the last straw for the former CSK vice-captain, who was already not comfortable staying in isolation for 6 days on his own.
Even CSK owner N Srinivasan had allegedly suggested that success has gone to Raina’s head after reports of him creating a scene on getting a room without a balcony were put out.
IPL 2020: Comeback hopes end as CSK removes Suresh Raina's name from official website
The issue was further intensified when CSK removed Raina’s photo from their official website.
However, Raina, who cited the health of his two children as the reason for his return from Dubai before IPL started, has shared a video of himself practicing in nets in Ghaziabad.
It remains to be seen whether Raina attempts a comeback for CSK, who have lost two out three games they have played and are at the bottom of the points table.
He posted the video on Instagram with a caption reading, “In my zone ✌️???? #Ghaziabad #crickettogether.” If he does return to the CSK camp, it will be a huge boost to their batting unit.
