Mumbai Police’s creative birthday wish to MS Dhoni goes viral on Twitter

The former India skipper turned 39 on July 7.

MS Dhoni | AFPMS Dhoni turned 39 on Tuesday (July 7) with wishes pouring in from across the globe for the legendary Indian cricketer.

Amid a number of unique birthday greetings to Dhoni on social media, the one that caught everyone’s attention was from Mumbai Police.

The official handle of Mumbai Police took to Twitter and wrote: “Do it the ‘Mahi Way’ - Stay ‘Not Out’, Stay Cool & Stump #coronavirus. Happy Birthday, Captain Cool.”

They also used the hashtags #HappyBirthdayMahi and #SocialDistancing to complete the tweet.

The post also includes a picture that has MSD written on it. While people in the cricket fraternity use the acronym MSD for Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Mumbai Police gave it a different meaning to share another important message amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The tweet was an instant hit, garnering more than 1400 Retweets and over 6000 Likes in double-quick time.

It has been almost a year since Dhoni last played any form of competitive cricket. The World Cup 2019 semi-final against New Zealand at Old Trafford was his last appearance in Team India colours.

He was set to lead Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 13th edition of Indian Premier League but the Coronavirus outbreak forced the BCCI to suspend the cash-rich event indefinitely.
