Pravin Tambe became the first Indian player to be drafted by a team in the Caribbean Premier League 2020 season, as he was picked up by Trinbago Knight Riders.  Now the coast has become clear for the 48-year-old to get the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the BCCI as well.

As per Times of India reports, BCCI is ready to provide Tambe with a NOC especially after he retired from First-Class Cricket.

"He again wrote to us recently, saying that he has retired from first-class cricket. As per the BCCI rules, he's now free to play in overseas leagues," a top BCCI official told TOI on Tuesday.

However, this also means that Tambe will no longer be allowed to play in the IPL, where he was supposed to turn up for the Kolkata Knight Riders team in IPL 2020.

Tambe had made his IPL debut at the age of 41, becoming the oldest player to play in the cash-rich league. In a successful IPL career for the Rajasthan Royals, he played 33 IPL matches and took 28 wickets at an average of 30.5.

The six CPL franchises have selected their teams for the 2020 tournament which is scheduled to take place from August 18 to September 10. The tournament will be held behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
