Pakistani fast bowler Naseem Shah has been a revelation in the cricketing world ever since making his Test debut against Australia at the age of 16 and then becoming the youngest to pick a five-wicket haul in Tests.
He also became the youngest bowler ever to record a Test hat-trick, in the Rawalpindi Test against Bangladesh when he removed Nazmul Hossain, Taijul Islam and Mahmudullah in three consecutive balls.
Recently, in a chat with the Cricingif website, Naseem Shah revealed his dream hat-trick lineup of top-class batsmen he wants to dismiss in three straight balls. He picked England captain Joe Root, Australia’s batting Master Steve Smith and India’s dashing opener Rohit Sharma in his list.
Virat Kohli will become Naseem Shah’s bunny, says Faisal Iqbal
Surprisingly, there was no place for Indian captain Virat Kohli in his list, given the number of runs he has scored for the country since his debut in 2008. Kohli has 7240 runs in 86 Tests, 11867 runs in 248 ODIs, and 2794 runs in 82 T20I matches.
This came as a surprise as former Pakistani batsman Faisal Iqbal had claimed that Kohli would be a bunny of Naseem whenever the two teams would face-off. Even young Naseem has said that he doesn’t fear Virat Kohli.
“I hope that I can bowl well against India when that chance comes by and won’t let our fans down. As for Virat Kohli, I respect him but don’t fear him. It’s always a challenge to bowl to the best, but that’s where you have to raise your game. I look forward to playing against Virat Kohli and India whenever that chance comes,” he said in a recent interview with PakPassion.net.
