Just like all the cricket stars in the world, India opener Rohit Sharma is currently enjoying an unforeseen break from the game in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, which has brought several countries to a practical standstill.
Rohit was set to lead the Mumbai Indians (MI) franchise in the 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) but the BCCI decided to postpone the tournament from March 29 to April 15 due to COVID-19 outbreak, which has claimed more than 14,000 lives and infected over 338,000 people globally.
This rescheduling of IPL 2020 has forced Rohit to sit at home but he seems to be making the most of his spare time.
On Sunday (March 22), Sharma shared a video on Instagram in which he can be seen helping his daughter Samaira hold a cricket bat and play a straight drive. In the clip, one of Rohit's family members can be spotted bowling at Samaira and the father-daughter duo successfully executed the shot.
It remains to be seen if Rohit Sharma will be able to ply his trade at the IPL 13 from April 15, given the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
As of Monday (March 23), India has tested more than 400 positive cases for Coronavirus and recorded seven deaths owing to the pandemic.
