Pakistan wicket-keeper Sarfaraz Ahmed has been stripped off Test and T20I captaincy. This has not gone down well with Pakistan fans who have targeted the PCB in their tweets.

Sarfaraz had been on the edge of his captaincy role since their below-par performance in the World Cup 2019. Pakistan coach and national selector Misbah-ul-Haq had praised him for his hard work in the national camp before their home series against Sri Lanka.

The 32-year-old got another hit as captain but failed to make it count as the hosts, who are also ranked No. 1 in T20Is, lost 3-0 to a second string Sri Lankan side.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) thus not only removed Sarfaraz from the captaincy role but also dropped him from their Test and T20I squads. Azhar Ali and Babar Azam have been made captain in the Test and T20I format respectively. The fans called the PCB biased for the decision and also blamed them for dropping all cricketers from Karachi.
