Virat Kohli’s brother Vikas refutes rumors about mother’s ill health; asks fans, media to not spread fake news

Virat Kohli opted out of the first two Tests of the ongoing series against England.

Rumors were suggesting that Virat Kohli sought a break from the first two Tests against England due to his mother’s illness. Kohli had traveled to Hyderabad with the Indian team ahead of the first Test but left the camp to go back home.

The BCCI confirmed that Virat had withdrawn from the first two Tests against England for personal reasons and had notified captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid about the same. It remains to be seen whether Kohli will return for the remaining three Tests of the series in which India trails 0-1.

Meanwhile, Virat’s elder brother Vikas Kohli dismissed the rumors of mother Saroj’s ill health and urged the fans and the media to not spread fake news without proper information.

"I have noticed that there is this fake news about our mom's health been circulating around. Let me clear that our mom is absolutely fit and fine. Also I would request everyone and also the media, not to spread such news without proper information.
