Former India skipper Rohit Sharma has started his preparations for the upcoming three-match ODI series against England, slated to begin on July 14 at Edgbaston.

In a video doing rounds on social media, Rohit looked to be in excellent touch and hitting the ball cleanly in the nets. The viral practice session shows the veteran opener executing a repertoire of strokes with utmost comfort.

Having retired from T20Is and Tests in the 2024-25 season, Rohit Sharma remains active for India only in ODIs. He dominated the 50-over format last year, finishing as India’s second highest run-getter and earning the Player-of-the-Series award on the tour of Australia.

Rohit has registered scores of 26, 24, 11, 16, 48 and 79 in six ODI appearances this year. The 39-year-old is keen to play the 2027 World Cup, hence; the England series holds key for him to solidify his position as opening batter.
