Rohit Sharma’s huge six off the bowling of David Willey hit a child in the stands during the first ODI between England and India being played at the Oval in London on July 12, 2022.
India bowled first after Rohit Sharma won the toss and his decision proved to be the right one as India bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami ran through England's top order leaving them 59/7 at one stage and finally bowling them out for 110 runs inside 26 overs.
Bumrah picked his best-ever ODI figures of 6/19, while Shami contributed with 3/31 as only Jos Buttler (30) and David Willey (21) could score some runs as the Indian pacers swung and seamed the ball under overcast conditions.
In reply, India started off in style as Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan feasted on full and short deliveries by the England pacers.

However, during the fifth over of the Indian innings, something distressing happened. Rohit unleashed his favorite pull shot off the bowling of David Willey and the ball sailed over the fine leg boundary into the stands.
Immediately after six was signaled, the camera panned towards the crowd, where a man was seen consoling a little girl in his arms and rubbing her back, probably due to the impact of the ball hitting her.
Here is the video thread of the incident:
Rohit and his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan went on to add their 18th hundred-run partnership to take India closer to the win. The pair of Dhawan and Rohit completed 5000 runs opening the innings for India together joining the legendary duo of Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.
