"Just a Rohit Sharma appreciation post. Also for all boys and girls out there...Success isn't instant, many years of smart & hard work will fruition at a point when you don't expect sometimes #ENGvIND," he tweeted.

In 2016, Rohit had posted a tweet in which he wrote that the greatest pleasure is to prove people wrong. "The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do," he had posted.

Currently, Rohit is the first preference as an opener for India in all three formats. The 34-year-old had to grind hard to seal his place in the Test side.

There were doubts over Rohit's performance in red-ball cricket, especially in overseas conditions. But he managed to put on a praise-worthy show on the current England tour with the bat.
