A ball was thrown at the Indian speedster Mohammed Siraj from the crowd during the opening day of the third Test against England at Headingley. Siraj was fielding near the boundary when the incident happened.

India captain Virat Kohli was angry over the crowd's behavior and he was seen having a chat with the umpire after telling Siraj to throw the object out. India's wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant revealed the incident during the press conference.

"I think, somebody (from the crowd) threw a ball at Siraj, so he (Kohli) was upset. You can say whatever you want, chant, but don't throw things at fielders. It is not good for cricket, I guess," Pant said at the end of the first day's play.

During the last Test, KL Rahul had experienced something similar after champagne bottle corks were thrown at him near the boundary. The English cricket fans are known for being hostile and their crude behavior towards visiting teams.

On the first day of the third Test, England bowled out India for 78 in the first innings. They ended the day's play with 120/0 on the scoreboard with both the openers, Haseeb Hameed and Rory Burns batting on unbeaten half-centuries.
